{We ended and started a year at the ER!}

This is his swollen left eye. You can't see the gash unless he closes his eye.

New Years Eve we went to my Dad & Mom's house. We were eating and Ryan had just asked Austin and Logan if Blake was downstairs. Then he asked what he was doing... a few seconds later Austin comes around the corner with a screaming, bloody face Blake. Blake was playing in the bathroom, slipped on the tile, and split his eye lid open. Ryan yelled for me, when I came I saw blood on his eye lid, under his eye, running down his cheek, and even in his eye. I was so scared that it was actually his eye. We cleaned him up and found a 3/4" gash on his eye lid. We went to a nurse in the neighborhood, and she said that it did need stitches. It was pretty deep, so just before 10:00 pm we made our way up to Primary Childrens hospital. We knew that he would have to be put under anesthesia to stitch his eye lid. When the DR finally came in to see Blake she said that it might be okay, but she would have the attending DR come in and look at it, but if he did need stitches, they would IV sedate him. When the attending DR came in, she tried to separate it, and it wouldn't budge. It had closed itself shut, right perfectly in line. She said that if they did stitch it, the scar wouldn't be any better than it would be to let it heal on its own. We were so thankful for that. We are so thankful that our prayers were answered and to have this little miracle happen for Blake.
